At Mwanzo Project CIC, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, discover their passions, and thrive towards a brighter future.

What We Do

Through our Call In and Reach Out programmes, we work primarily with Black and racially minoritised young people. Research shows that this group faces significant barriers to diversion and support, so our interventions are carefully tailored to meet cultural needs and reduce the over-criminalisation of young people.

We are committed to:

  • Providing an alternative to offending and violence

  • Opening pathways to learning, growth, education, employment, and training

  • Offering compassionate, consistent, and culturally relevant support

Our Approach

We know that young people involved in drug-related crime or street conflict are too often met without compassion or understanding; especially if they are Black or racially minoritised. At Mwanzo, we take a holistic, trauma-informed approach.

Our staff are trained in psychologically informed practice, giving them the tools to:

  • Empower young people to share their experiences

  • Support emotional wellbeing and personal development

  • Recognise and respond to trauma with empathy and care

Community-Led Support

We work in partnership with grassroots and culturally specific services, drawing on community expertise and knowledge to ensure our young people are truly heard and supported. This helps us overcome barriers to mainstream services and create a safe, trusted space for growth.
